What they need

About the role

We are seeking a Planner / Senior Planner to manage customer demand, order requirements, material readiness, capacity loading and shipment planning to ensure effective demand-to-supply alignment and on-time delivery. The role serves as a key planning interface between Program Management and cross-functional teams, including SCM, Operations, Warehouse, Logistics and Engineering. The Planner is responsible for translating customer demand and priorities into actionable loading and shipment plans, while incorporating material readiness and CTB status provided by SCM, production capacity and operational constraints. The Planner is expected to maintain clear visibility of customer demand, backlog, loading, capacity and shipment status; proactively identify potential gaps and delivery risks; and drive timely cross-functional alignment and escalation to support reliable customer commitments and overall program execution.

Key responsibilities

1.     Customer Demand & Order Planning

  • Manage and maintain customer orders, forecasts, demand requirements and shipment requirements to ensure accurate and timely planning visibility across the organization.

  • Review customer forecasts, purchase orders and demand changes, and translate customer requirements into actionable internal demand and loading requirements.

  • Monitor demand fluctuations, upside/downside requirements and order changes, and proactively highlight potential impact to capacity, materials, and delivery commitments.

  • Maintain accurate demand, order backlog and shipment information and ensure changes are communicated promptly to relevant stakeholders.

2.     Demand, Capacity & Loading Analysis

  • Analyze customer demand against available manufacturing capacity, material readiness and operational constraints to determine overall supply feasibility.

  • Develop and maintain short-, medium- and long-term loading plans based on customer demand, available capacity and business priorities.

  • Perform capacity analysis and identify potential bottlenecks, capacity gaps or over/under-utilization requiring management attention.

  • Work closely with Operations to align customer demand and loading requirements with executable production plans.

  • Support capacity scenario planning for demand upside, ramp-up, new product introduction and changes in customer requirements.

3.     Production & Delivery Planning

  • Review CTB status and material readiness provided by SCM and translate available supply into executable production schedules and shipment plans based on customer demand and priorities.

·       Develop, maintain and continuously update production schedules based on CTB availability, production capacity, customer requirements and committed delivery dates.

·       Assess the impact of CTB shortages, material constraints or changes in material availability on production schedules and delivery commitments, and promptly highlight potential risks.

·       Work closely with SCM, Production and relevant cross-functional teams to align material availability, production priorities and required output to support customer delivery requirements.

·       Monitor production progress against the agreed schedule and adjust production and shipment plans as required to address changes in CTB, capacity, demand or operational conditions.

·       Establish and maintain reliable delivery commitments based on confirmed CTB, production capability and actual production status, and promptly escalate any risk of delivery shortfall to Program Management.

·       Drive timely cross-functional alignment and recovery actions where material, capacity or production constraints may impact committed delivery dates.

  • Monitor order backlog, production progress and shipment status to ensure potential delivery gaps are identified early.

  • Provide PM and relevant stakeholders with accurate shipment visibility, delivery risks and recovery status.

  • Coordinate internally to support achievement of customer delivery requirements and On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets.

  • Ensure shipment priorities and changes are clearly communicated and aligned across relevant functions.

4.     Planning Control & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the planning focal point connecting Program Management, SCM, Material Control, Operations, Warehouse and other relevant functions.

  • Lead or participate in planning reviews covering customer demand, CTB, loading, backlog, material readiness, capacity and shipment performance.

  • Track planning-related actions and ensure responsible owners provide timely updates and closure.

  • Proactively identify discrepancies between customer demand, system data, material readiness, production capability and shipment plans and drive alignment before they impact delivery.

  • Escalate significant planning gaps, constraints or risks to Program Management and management with clear impact assessment and required actions.

5.     Planning Analytics & Performance

  • Prepare accurate and timely demand, loading, CTB, backlog, capacity and shipment reports for Program Management and management review.

  • Monitor key planning indicators including forecast changes, demand versus capacity, CTB coverage, backlog, shipment attainment and delivery performance.

  • Analyze historical demand, forecast trends, capacity utilization and delivery performance to support planning decisions and future capacity requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, visibility, responsiveness and overall supply-demand alignment.

  • Continuously improve planning processes, reporting methodology and data accuracy to provide reliable information for operational and management decision-making.

6.     Planning Governance & Ownership

  • Maintain planning data integrity and ensure customer demand, orders, forecasts, loading and shipment information are accurately reflected in relevant systems and reports.

  • Demonstrate strong ownership and urgency in identifying planning gaps and driving cross-functional follow-up before they impact customer commitments.

  • Ensure planning activities comply with established company procedures, customer requirements and operational objectives.

  • Perform projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.

  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for the Planner position.

  • For Senior Planner, minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in Production Planning, Material Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing Operations or a related field.

  • Candidates with experience in production planning, material planning, capacity planning, supply chain, manufacturing operations or customer order management are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience in EMS, electronics manufacturing, PCBA, semiconductor or related manufacturing industries will be an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle or similar manufacturing planning systems, is preferred.

  • Knowledge of MRP, production scheduling, material availability, capacity planning and inventory management is an advantage.

  • For fresh graduates, training and guidance on ERP, MRP or relevant system will be provided by a designated buddy.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and coordination skills.

  • Able to analyze data and translate customer demand into practical and achievable production plans.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of data analysis or planning tools is an advantage.
