We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Substation Planner III to join our team at K&A Power Group in Leland, New Bern, Garner or Dunn NC. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. You’ll be part of a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions will be valued and celebrated.

Role Expectations:

• Develop detailed construction and maintenance work packages.
• Estimate labor hours, resources, and project durations.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, tools, and contractor support.
• Participate in project planning, scoping, and pre-construction meetings.
• Conduct site visits and job walk-downs to support project planning.
• Coordinate with Construction, Project Management, Operations, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Support switching, clearance requests, outage coordination, and emergency planning activities.
• Maintain accurate project and compliance documentation, including NERC-related records.

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum 5 years of Substation Construction experience.
• Knowledge of transmission and substation construction practices.
• Experience with construction planning, estimating, and resource coordination.
• Knowledge of ITOA or switching/tagging qualifications required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple teams.

Pay Range $40—$46.40/hour
