Planner / Scheduler Engineer (Turnaround Maintenance & Projects)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Planner / Scheduler Engineer to support maintenance and turnaround activities within a large industrial facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating maintenance and shutdown projects to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor maintenance and turnaround schedules to ensure work is completed according to project objectives.
• Support planning and execution of major shutdowns (Turnaround) in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
• Coordinate maintenance activities for both Static Equipment and Rotating Equipment.
• Perform field control activities, monitor work progress, identify issues, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
• Track project milestones and maintenance performance, preparing regular progress reports and updates.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, maintenance teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Assist in resource planning, including manpower, materials, tools, and equipment requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records and update relevant information in maintenance management systems.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, procedures, and project requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in Maintenance Planning, Shutdown Planning, Turnaround Management, Project Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in refinery, petrochemical, power plant, or heavy industrial operations is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with strong internship experience in maintenance or project environments are encouraged to apply.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.

• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of maintenance processes and industrial equipment maintenance.

• Experience with CMMS and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools.

• Ability to use MS Project or other project scheduling software.

• Understanding of engineering drawings and documents, including:

  • P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram)
  • Isometric Drawings
  • Basic maintenance engineering documentation

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external contractors.

• Willingness to work in both office and field environments.
