Planner/Scheduler

About the role

R-II Builders Inc. is seeking an experienced Planner/Scheduler to join our dynamic construction team on a full-time basis in Tondo, Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a pivotal role within our organisation, responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, coordinating timelines across multiple construction projects, and ensuring all activities are executed efficiently and in alignment with project objectives. As Planner/Scheduler, you will play a crucial strategic role in optimising project delivery, managing resources effectively, and maintaining schedules that keep our projects on track and within budget parameters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning software and methodologies, ensuring all phases of construction are clearly mapped out with realistic timelines
• Monitor and update project schedules on a regular basis, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions to maintain project momentum
• Coordinate scheduling activities with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment and resource availability
• Analyse critical path activities and prepare schedule forecasts to anticipate completion dates and potential bottlenecks
• Prepare progress reports and schedule performance metrics for management and client stakeholders, communicating schedule status clearly and professionally
• Manage resource allocation across projects, balancing labour, equipment and material availability to optimise efficiency
• Conduct schedule reviews and meetings with project teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and implement improvements
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation including baseline schedules, schedule changes and schedule justifications
• Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure materials and equipment arrive on schedule to support construction activities
• Support senior planners and project controls teams in developing strategic planning frameworks for new projects

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in construction planning and scheduling roles
• Advanced proficiency in scheduling software, particularly Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar industry-standard tools
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building processes and project lifecycle management
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify scheduling conflicts and propose practical solutions
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple concurrent projects and prioritising competing demands
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex scheduling information clearly to diverse audiences
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and schedule maintenance
• Knowledge of construction contracts and conditions of contract relating to time and scheduling
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline (preferred)
• Professional certification such as PMI-CP, DBIA or similar construction planning credentials (advantageous)
