Planning & Controls Engineer

Job Summary

ERA Projects is looking for an experienced Planning & Controls Engineer with a strong background in construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, project controls, reporting, and coordination with project and site teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within approved schedules.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Primavera P6, construction scheduling, project controls, critical path analysis, progress tracking, delay analysis, and recovery planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Prepare baseline programs, master schedules, WBS, milestones, activity sequencing, and look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor actual project progress against approved schedules and identify delays or schedule deviations.
• Collect progress information from site teams and update project schedules accordingly.
• Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis and monitor critical activities, float, and project milestones.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, S-curves, and schedule updates.
• Monitor manpower, materials, procurement activities, equipment, and subcontractor progress affecting project timelines.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, QS, MEP teams, Procurement, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Identify schedule risks, constraints, and potential delays and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare recovery schedules and revised programs when projects fall behind schedule.
• Assist with delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) documentation, and claims-related planning requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor programs and ensure alignment with the overall project schedule.
• Track project deliverables, resources, productivity, and key milestones.
• Maintain accurate planning records, progress data, and project-control documentation.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings and provide updates on project performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in construction planning and project controls.
• Strong experience in building, villa, residential, commercial, or high-rise construction projects.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 is required.
• Knowledge of MS Project and advanced MS Excel is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of WBS, CPM, baseline schedules, critical path, float, resource planning, and construction sequencing.
• Experience in progress measurement, schedule updating, recovery planning, and delay analysis.
• Knowledge of EVM, S-curves, productivity monitoring, and project performance tracking is an advantage.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
• GCC construction experience is preferred.
• Bahrain construction experience is highly preferred.
• Must be currently available in Bahrain.
• Immediate joiner is strongly preferred.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on Planning & Controls Engineer with practical construction/site experience rather than someone limited to administrative planning. The candidate should be confident in Primavera P6, construction scheduling, progress monitoring, critical path analysis, recovery planning, and coordination with site teams.
