JOB SUMMARY

Apex Mining Co., Inc. is seeking a Planning Engineer to join our Construction Department.

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for supporting the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of construction projects. The position will coordinate closely with the Construction team, project personnel, contractors, and other concerned departments to ensure that project activities are properly planned, monitored, and documented in accordance with approved project schedules and requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for construction activities.
• Assist in preparing project work plans, schedules, milestones, and activity timelines.
• Monitor actual project progress against approved schedules and identify variances.
• Coordinate with the Construction team and contractors to obtain project progress updates.
• Track project accomplishments, quantities, manpower, equipment, and other relevant project resources.
• Prepare regular project progress reports and schedule updates.
• Identify potential delays, schedule conflicts, and other project constraints and coordinate with the concerned personnel for appropriate action.
• Assist in developing recovery plans and schedule adjustments for delayed activities.
• Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding project schedules and deliverables.
• Review and consolidate project accomplishment data for progress monitoring and reporting.
• Assist in monitoring project timelines, targets, and key milestones.
• Maintain updated project planning records, schedules, reports, and other relevant documentation.
• Assist in preparing progress presentations and reports for management review.
• Coordinate project meetings and document relevant action items and commitments.
• Assist in monitoring project requirements and deliverables to support timely project completion.
• Provide planning and scheduling support to the Construction Department as required.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Civil Engineer with a valid PRC license.
• Relevant experience in construction planning, project scheduling, project monitoring, or civil construction is an advantage.
• Knowledge of construction processes, project scheduling, and progress monitoring.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and technical documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and related reporting tools.
• Knowledge of project scheduling software is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and coordination skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare accurate project reports and documentation.
• Willing to work in a construction and field environment.
• Willing to work in Maco, Davao de Oro.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position involves both office-based planning and coordination activities and field/site visits to monitor project progress and gather actual project data. The successful candidate must be willing to work in a mining and construction environment and comply with applicable company safety policies and site requirements.
