Planning Engineer

About the role

The Production Planning Engineer develops operating plan summaries for assigned product families and selected SKUs including demand, inventory and production data. This role involves planning and preparing production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products, preparing master schedules to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders, and analyzing production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.

What will be your main task:

• Develops operating plan summaries for assigned product families and selected SKUs including demand, inventory and production data
• Provides daily bucketed schedules by SKU to manufacturing and installs production compliance metrics to measure performance
• Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products
• Prepares master schedule to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
• Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
• Plans and schedules workflow for each line and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
• Coordinates manufacturing activities and monitors schedule performance against plans to maintain priorities and meet established schedules by meeting on a regular basis with cross-functional teams
• Monitor production schedules, identify delays, coordinate with relevant stakeholders to expedite operations, and recommend schedule adjustments to address unforeseen conditions
• Coordinate cross-functional communication to support expedited requests, provide shipping information, and respond to routine order status inquiries

What can help you succeed:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• Candidates with relevant certification and substantial experience will also be considered
• Preferably 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or materials management, including at least 1 year in materials management or production planning
• Experience with operations, inventory management, MRP systems, and lean manufacturing processes is a plus
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle production deviations and implement corrective actions
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
