About the role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in the Central Region. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimising project schedules and planning strategies across our civil and structural engineering projects. The Planning Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and key stakeholders to coordinate activities, identify potential risks, and implement solutions that enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inter-department meetings
• Monitor daily work progress
• Prepare and plan the Preliminary Program
• Prepare technical proposal for submission to Client
• Conduct presentation of technical proposal to Top Management and Client
• Understand and coordinate structural, architectural and M&E works requirements
• Understand construction works arrangements, sequences and requirements
• Check temporary design & permanent works requirements
• Resolve drawings discrepancies
• Understand construction details in structure, architectural, and M&E works
• Identify contractual requirements
• Assist in problem solving
• Work within tender timeline
• Liaise with consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers for work requirements

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline

• Minimum 2 years on site experience within construction or civil engineering projects

• Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar scheduling tools

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex project data and schedules

• Demonstrated experience in preparing and managing project baseline schedules and progress monitoring

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present schedule information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment

• Experience in tender & presentation an added advantage
