Planning Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

• Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Establish project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Prepare baseline schedules and resource-loaded plans.
• Define project milestones and critical paths.
• Update and maintain project schedules regularly.

Monitoring & Control

• Track project progress against approved baselines.
• Identify schedule variances, delays, and potential risks.
• Conduct critical path analysis and look-ahead planning.
• Monitor engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
• Support project recovery and acceleration planning.

Reporting

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Generate S-curves, dashboards, and KPI reports.
• Provide project status updates to management and clients.
• Present schedule performance reviews during project meetings.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and Client teams.
• Collect progress data from various disciplines.
• Ensure alignment between project schedules and execution plans.
• Participate in project review meetings.

Risk & Change Management

• Assess schedule impacts of scope changes.
• Assist in claim analysis and extension of time (EOT) assessments.
• Maintain project risk registers related to schedule performance.
• Recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate with experience in Primavera P6
