Planning Engineer

We are looking for a Civil Planning Engineer to manage project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and coordination to ensure projects are completed within the planned time, cost, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project / Primavera P6.
• Develop project plans, work schedules, activity sequences, and baseline programs.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress against the approved schedule.
• Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Progress Reports (DPR/WPR/MPR).
• Track planned vs. actual progress and identify delays, deviations, and critical activities.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, QS, Procurement, Stores, and other departments for timely execution.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules and coordinate upcoming activities with site teams.
• Identify the critical path and monitor critical activities closely.
• Analyse project delays and assist in preparing recovery and mitigation plans.
• Update project schedules based on actual site progress and approved changes.
• Track manpower, material, equipment, and resource requirements in line with project schedules.
• Coordinate with site teams to collect accurate progress data and ensure timely reporting.
• Prepare progress charts, S-curves, dashboards, and other management reports.
• Assist in preparation of EOT, delay analysis, and time-impact analysis when required.
• Monitor subcontractor schedules and progress against agreed timelines.
• Maintain proper planning documentation, revisions, and project records.
• Highlight potential schedule risks and delays to management and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure timely updating of project workflows and planning-related data in the ERP system.

Required Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in civil construction/infrastructure project planning.
• Strong knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera P6.
• Good knowledge of project scheduling, progress monitoring, and construction methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and preparation of project reports.
• Good understanding of drawings, BOQ, construction activities, and project execution.
• Strong coordination, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience in road, highway, infrastructure, or large-scale civil construction projects.
• Knowledge of EOT and delay analysis.
• Experience with ERP/project management software.
• Ability to work closely with multiple project/site teams.
