Planning Engineer

About the role

JRBUILDERS COMPANY INC. is seeking a talented Planning Engineer to join our growing team in Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of our construction and civil engineering projects. As a Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive project schedules, managing timelines, and ensuring efficient resource allocation across all phases of construction. This role is integral to maintaining project momentum, controlling costs, and delivering projects on time and within budget. You will work collaboratively with project managers, site supervisors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and continuous improvement in planning processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project schedules and timelines using industry-standard planning software and methodologies
• Monitor and update project progress, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule integrity
• Prepare resource management plans, including labour, equipment, and materials allocation to optimise project delivery
• Coordinate with various departments and subcontractors to ensure timely communication of project schedules and requirements
• Analyse project data and generate comprehensive reports on schedule performance, resource utilisation, and key performance indicators
• Conduct critical path analysis and identify project risks that could impact timeline or budget
• Assist in budget forecasting and cost control by tracking project expenditures against planned allocations
• Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to the development of project strategies and methodologies
• Support the preparation of tender documents and project proposals with accurate scheduling and resource estimates
• Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, plans, and progress reports

What we're looking for

• License in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in project planning, scheduling, or construction management
• Proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar planning tools
• Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles and construction methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify scheduling conflicts and develop practical solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Filipino is advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of relevant Philippine building codes, regulations, and industry standards
• Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, DASM, or equivalent) is preferred but not essential
