Planning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Planning Engineer to support the successful delivery of construction projects through effective planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and coordination. This role requires a focus on accurate project controls, timely reporting, and experience in civil, infrastructure, or building works.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules with resource loading using MS Project
• Prepare and manage baseline schedules, including physical and financial S-curves
• Monitor project progress, update schedules and forecasts, and perform critical path analysis
• Identify potential delays or bottlenecks and recommend practical mitigation and recovery measures
• Assist the project team with tender programmes, Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, and recovery schedules
• Prepare weekly dashboards, monthly progress reports, and presentations for management review
• Analyse and report project performance, including planned vs. actual progress and forecast trends
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support smooth project execution
• Monitor subcontractor progress and develop micro-schedules for effective coordination

About you

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience in project planning, site supervision, or construction management
• Key Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project for scheduling, resource loading, and critical path analysis
• Data & Reporting: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, performance tracking, and dashboard management
• Mobility: Willing and able to travel outstation for site visits, inspections, and project coordination as required
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of handling work programmes, method statements, and site coordination
