Planning Engineer

About the role

A Planning Engineer role focused on developing work programmes, monitoring project progress, and coordinating with project management teams to ensure effective planning and scheduling of construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop work programme based on the BQ, Drawing and Contract using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
• Monitor and track project progress, and write up reports
• Attend and schedule meetings as required
• Prepare construction program, mitigation plan, catch-up plan, extension of time and progress reporting
• Liaise with the Project Manager, Construction Manager and operation team in planning, monitoring and updating the entire program of work
• Assist Project Manager in planning and monitoring the progress of work at site
• Update physical progress and liaise with project manager for forecast activity to achieve the target and advise construction manager on planning matters
• Prepare construction planning and other construction activities with clients and project management inputs
• Provide technical explanation to Project Management on suggested planning activities
• Prepare status of work program with PowerPoint presentation for monthly meeting with consultant and client

About you

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
• Must be able to operate Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 to develop work and project schedule
• Must have experience in construction industry
• Planning and project management skills
• Strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills
• Sound understanding of safety protocols
• Ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines
