Planning Engineer: Electrical & ELV

The Planning Engineer (Electrical & ELV) is responsible for developing, updating, and monitoring baseline schedules for electrical and extra-low voltage (ELV) project deliverables. This role ensures timely procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning while maintaining alignment with overall project baselines, budget requirements, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Schedule Development & Planning

• Develop detailed, activity-level work breakdown structures (WBS) and baseline schedules for Electrical (LV, MV, HV, Transformers, Switchgears, Lighting) and ELV systems (CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, BMS, PA/VA, Structured Cabling, Data networks).
• Define project logic, predecessor/successor relationships, critical path activities, and resource allocation.
• Integrate procurement schedules (material approvals, lead times, delivery dates) and design approvals into the master installation schedule.

2. Progress Monitoring & Performance Tracking

• Conduct regular site inspections to track actual progress against scheduled targets for Electrical and ELV works.
• Quantify installed quantities, labor hours, and equipment productivity.

3. Critical Path Analysis & Risk Management

• Identify potential schedule delays, bottlenecks, or interface conflicts between Electrical/ELV and civil, structural, or mechanical trade packages.
• Formulate recovery schedules, crash options, and mitigation strategies.
• Perform delay impact analyses for claims, scope changes, and variation orders.

4. Reporting & Documentation

• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and resource loading curves for electrical and ELV packages

5. Site Billing & Final Account Closure

• Oversee the complete financial, commercial, and administrative reconciliation of Electrical and ELV packages following project completion, ensuring final invoices are accurately processed, variations are settled, and site financial accounts are fully closed out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

Technical Experience

• 1 to 3+ years of experience as a Planning Engineer specializing in Electrical and ELV scope

Strong domain knowledge of Electrical systems (transformers, distribution boards, containment, cables, fixtures) and ELV packages (BMS, FAS, CCTV, ACS, ICT/Structured Cabling).
