PLANNING ENGINEERING SERVICES

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Develop and maintain project, construction, maintenance, and commissioning schedules.
• Prepare detailed work plans and activity sequences for engineering and field execution.
• Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, operations, and commissioning teams.
• Monitor actual progress against approved schedules and identify deviations.
• Establish activity durations, dependencies, manpower requirements, and resource needs.
• Track critical activities, milestones, constraints, and interfaces.
• Prepare short-term, weekly, monthly, and project-level schedules.
• Analyze schedule performance and recommend recovery actions where delays occur.
• Support project teams with planning information for decision-making.
• Ensure planning activities align with project objectives, procedures, and contractual requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and detailed execution schedules, as applicable.
• Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) and activity coding systems.
• Prepare resource-loaded schedules covering manpower, equipment, materials, and other requirements.
• Establish activity relationships, logic, durations, and milestones.
• Monitor planned versus actual progress and update schedules regularly.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, typically covering weekly and monthly execution activities.
• Identify the critical path and activities with potential schedule impact.
• Track procurement, engineering deliverables, fabrication, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Collect progress information from discipline engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Verify reported progress and ensure schedule updates reflect actual field status.
• Prepare S-curves, progress curves, histograms, dashboards, and schedule reports.
• Analyze delays, slippages, productivity trends, and schedule variances.
• Develop recovery plans and revised execution strategies where required.
• Coordinate schedule interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, and operations.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor schedules and performance.
• Support preparation of project progress reports and management presentations.
• Maintain schedule documentation and ensure proper revision control.
• Participate in planning meetings, progress meetings, constructability reviews, and coordination meetings.
• Support shutdown and turnaround planning, including detailed work-pack scheduling where applicable.
• Ensure planning information supports project cost and resource control.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in planning and scheduling within oil & gas, EPC, construction, maintenance, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and schedule control.
• Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
• Ability to develop and interpret WBS, critical path schedules, resource-loaded schedules, S-curves, and progress reports.
• Good understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Experience monitoring contractor and subcontractor schedules is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholders.
• Experience in FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, construction, shutdown, turnaround, and commissioning projects is advantageous.

Pay: ₦140,000.00 - ₦240,000.00 per day
