About the Role

As a Planning Intern, you will gain hands-on experience within our Supply Chain team, supporting production planning, inventory management, demand forecasting, and materials coordination in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills while contributing to the efficient delivery of products to our customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the preparation and maintenance of production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control activities.
• Help coordinate raw material and packaging availability.
• Assist with demand planning and forecast analysis.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and supply chain performance data.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and operations.
• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, health, safety, and environmental standards.

About the YES Programme

This internship forms part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme, a business-led collaboration with the South African Government aimed at reducing youth unemployment by creating opportunities for young people to develop new skills and gain meaningful workplace experience.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is eager to start a career in Supply Chain and Operations.

What you'll bring:

• National Diploma, Diploma, or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Production Management, Business Management, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of supply chain, planning, or manufacturing processes is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility requirements:

• Unemployed South African youth aged 18-29 years.
• Must not have previously participated in a YES4Youth programme.
• Eager to gain workplace experience and develop professional skills through a 12-month internship opportunity.
