Planning Officer

About the role

This role involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring subcontractor production activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished products. You will prepare and maintain subcontractor production schedules based on customer requirements and production priorities, and liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth planning and material flow.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor subcontractor production activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished products
• Prepare and maintain subcontractor production schedules based on customer requirements and production priorities
• Coordinate with subcontractors on production progress, material availability, delivery schedules, and outstanding orders
• Monitor subcontractor performance and follow up on any production delays, quality issues, or delivery discrepancies
• Liaise with internal departments, including Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service, to ensure smooth planning and material flow
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of materials sent to and received from subcontractors
• Ensure subcontractor production and delivery schedules are aligned with the company's overall production plan
• Identify potential production bottlenecks and coordinate corrective actions to minimize disruptions
• Prepare and update planning reports, subcontractor status reports, and delivery schedules
• Assist other Planning team members with production planning, scheduling, material coordination, and other planning-related activities when required

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, Logistics, or a related field
• Preferably 1–2 years of working experience in production planning, subcontractor coordination, or a related role in the manufacturing industry
• Good knowledge of production planning, material control, and inventory management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing production priorities
• Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and good organizational skills
• Able to communicate effectively with internal departments and external subcontractors
