Planning Officer / Executive

About the role

Solid Point Precision Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Planning Officer / Executive to join our Production, Planning & Scheduling team. This is a full-time position based in Muar, Johor. As Planning Officer / Executive, you will play a crucial role in optimising our manufacturing operations by coordinating production schedules, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring timely delivery of products to meet customer demands. This position is strategically important to our manufacturing operations and directly contributes to the company's operational excellence and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain production schedules using demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity planning to ensure optimal utilization of manufacturing resources
2. Monitor and track production progress against planned schedules, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed
3. Liaise with sales, procurement, and production teams to coordinate material availability, equipment allocation, and workforce planning
4. Prepare production reports and performance metrics, analyzing data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement
5. Manage inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components
6. Optimize production sequences and scheduling to minimize lead times and reduce operational costs
7. Communicate with customers regarding delivery timelines and manage expectations accordingly
8. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to lean manufacturing practices
9. Maintain accurate planning documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
2. 2-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or related roles within a manufacturing environment
3. Strong proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
5. Knowledge of production management principles, demand forecasting, and inventory management
6. Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments
7. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy
8. Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles
9. Preferable experience with capacity planning, materials requirement planning (MRP), and supply chain optimization
