Plant / Industrial / Financial Controller (Commercial Finance)

North Germany | Manufacturing Environment | €80,000 - €90,000 + Benefits

I'm partnering with a growing international manufacturing business operating within a “small-batch” environment to appoint a Plant Controller for a key production site in Germany.

This is a business-critical role partnering closely with site leadership, operations, supply chain, and commercial teams to drive financial performance, improve cost transparency, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
• Manage product costing, standard costing, and margin analysis across a complex manufacturing operation
• Analyse production variances, yields, efficiencies, labour and material costs
• Support inventory valuation, working capital optimisation, and financial reporting
• Partner with operational leaders on CAPEX projects, pricing decisions, make-or-buy analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive reporting automation, financial transparency, and data-driven decision making through SAP and modern reporting tools

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years' experience in Plant Controlling, Industrial Controlling, Manufacturing Finance, or Cost Accounting
• Strong background within manufacturing environments such as pharmaceutical, life sciences, chemical, FMCG, or other process industries
• Demonstrable expertise in product costing, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong SAP knowledge would be beneficial
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence operational decision making
