Plant Electrical Engineer

About the role

The role ensures electrical systems comply with applicable safety standards, regulations, and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain plant electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, MCCs, switchgear, motors, control panels, lighting, and grounding systems.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and equipment breakdowns and provide timely corrective actions.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
• Review electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Supervise electrical technicians, contractors, and service providers.
• Monitor electrical consumption and identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost reduction.
• Assist in electrical installation, modification, and commissioning of new equipment and projects.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, equipment history, and electrical incidents.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Licensed/Registered Electrical Engineer preferred or required as applicable to the position and local regulations.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing plant electrical systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of SCADA, control systems, power distribution, and industrial electrical equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and applicable standards.
• At least 3 years of experience in the power industry, with 2+ years of on-site O&M or construction management experience in PV or wind power projects.
• 1+ year of team management experience, with the ability to independently formulate annual and monthly Preventive Maintenance Schedules (PMS).
• Familiar with local Philippine power regulations, grid interconnection requirements, and electrical safety standards.
• Proficient in troubleshooting core equipment such as PV modules, inverters, transformers, and high/low-voltage switchgear.
