Join Our Team as a Plant Engineer!

Who we are looking for:

We’re looking for a hands-on Plant Engineer to help keep our quarry running safely, reliably and efficiently. In this role, you’ll be central to keeping production moving — tackling preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and supporting continuous improvement across the site. You’ll be a key link between operations and maintenance, ensuring plant work is completed safely, efficiently and to Rangitikei Aggregates’ standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance & Engineering — Complete planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on quarry infrastructure.
  • Daily Checks — Carry out inspections and audits to spot faults, hazards and improvement opportunities.
  • Fault Diagnosis — Identify root causes, implement corrective actions and help reduce downtime.
  • Repairs & Fabrication — Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, fitting and project work.
  • Reporting — Maintain accurate records and contribute to maintenance planning and improvement activity.
  • Safety & Hazard Management — Identify hazards, follow isolation and permit to work processes, and support HS&E initiatives

What this role offers:

  • Guaranteed 40 hours - Monday to Friday and some Saturdays on roster
  • Weekly paid, hourly rate from $40.00

What You’ll Bring

  • Trade qualification in engineering, fitting, mechanical maintenance or similar experience, preferably in quarries
  • Safety mindset — strong commitment to upholding Health & Safety standards; able to work safely in noisy, dusty or hot environments.
  • Communication & teamwork — clear communicator who can work independently and build strong relationships across the site.
  • Planning & prioritisation — able to organise maintenance tasks effectively and respond to operational priorities.

Why Join Us

You’ll be part of a team that values safety, teamwork and continuous improvement, with plenty of variety and the chance to make a real impact on plant reliability and quarry performance.

For this role you will need:

✅ NZ Class 1 Drivers Licence

✅ Right to work in New Zealand

✅ Decent level of fitness – there will be some manual heavy lifting

✅ Common sense and a healthy and positive attitude towards your work to ensure your teammates get home safely each day.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
