Plant Engineer

Heavy Plant Engineer - Field Service - Dublin - Permanent

Parker Stewart is working exclusively with a leading equipment company who are urgently seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer for a field service role.

What you'll actually be doing:

• Maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery and equipment to keep it performing and lasting

• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and providing effective solutions to complex engineering problems

• Carrying out regular inspections and assessments to catch problems before they become breakdowns

• Working with cross-functional teams to improve maintenance schedules and practices

• Documenting all maintenance and repair work so the records stand up

• Keeping current with new technology and developments in heavy plant engineering

• Supporting the training and mentoring of junior engineers and technicians

• Working to safety standards and protocols at all times

What we need:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field

• Formal training or certification in heavy machinery or plant equipment maintenance preferred

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and mechanical systems

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting

• Minimum of 5 years in heavy plant engineering or a similar technical role

• Experience maintaining a range of heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers and cranes

• A track record of improving equipment efficiency and reducing downtime through good maintenance practice

• Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards for heavy equipment operation
