Plant Head

The role is responsible to achieve the Production/Sales target with minimum rejection / re-work/Delivery commitment and to maintain Quality standard by coordinating with Production staff, Sales team while considering the safety of workmen and machines. Production Management Planning and Delivery * Reviews the year plan and expansion plan and prepares the required budget for required manpower, machinery and development.
* Supervises the production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Draws up production schedule & adjusts them if problems occur, sets target & outputs to achieve operational plans.
* Anchor the daily production meeting, manages and oversees the production start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
* Reviews and monitors delivery of urgent rolls, ensures vulcanizing of all re-coating rolls within the agreed timelines based on the facility.
* Responsible for meeting shift production goals (Quantity/ shift).
* Co-ordinates with all departments (QA, Maintenance, HR) for smooth running of Operations.
* Takes care of rollers at various stages of the production process and confirms the drawings are as per the client requirements.
* Regularly analyses the dispatches.
* Informs & takes confirmation from the client about the additional charges if any repairing is required.
* Attends to customer complaints and provides service backup for troubleshooting.
* Runs a structured process for understanding customer complaints and take corrective actions reducing customer complaints rejection/ rework.
* Manages the inventory by verifying availability of the rubber compound material in store and plans for timely purchase. * Plans and coordinates with the Purchase team for timely delivery of material requirements. 1. Achievement of product targets (Quantity, quality and time) Facilities Maintenance and plant upkeep * Regularly attends to any kind of disruption in machines or breakdowns
* Ensures timely lubrication of machines
* Oversees & ensures that the repair works & general maintenance is done within the budget
* Regularly checks the equipments, buildings, factory premises and other facilities to ensure that they remain neat and clean and in good working condition through good housekeeping practices
* Tracks utility consumption at the plant 1. Zero down time of machines
2. Adherence to utility comsuption limits Quality Control and Reporting * Responsible for quality control by ensuring that high standards of quality are consistently maintained throughout all the production process
* Analyses the areas of improving production & identifies cost effectiveness, proposes & evaluates on how to achieve production efficiencies and implements improvements in production process
* Monitor, Review and reduce the defects in job cards. Reduce NC and Rejections
* Drives TPM activities & Continuous improvement initiatives
* Conduct Root cause analysis, investigate corrective actions of Internally rejected rolls and modify the process if required by consulting with the Director
* Documentation as per ISO/TS 9001 2015 requirement.
* Report Generation of day-to-day shift information.
* Daily production meeting- Daily production reports.
* Operations monitoring and Report to the Director.
* Audit deployment of staff, workmen and resources.
* Audit and Review and improve unit performance measures. 1. Adherence to quality standards Safety at workplace * Ensures safety at work place is practiced and strictly followed and also meets all statutory needs
* Ensures a safe working environment through use of safety equipments, guarded moving of parts of machines, presence of adequate fire-fighting equipments in place, examination of pressure vessels, lifting ropes etc. from authorized agency 1. Zero reports on safety related issues People Management * Communicates daily, weekly schedules to the team and guides workmen to ensure that the deliverables are met.
* Conducts performance reviews, tracks key metrics and attendance of workers.
* Helps and guides the team to understand the process corrections which need to be brought in.
* Supervises & motivates the production team.
* Managing/ Instructing Shift Supervisors during shifts to meet production goals.
* Identifies the training needs whenever necessary and organizes for the same.
* Ensuring that policies and standard operating procedures are followed.
* Giving immediate feedback/ taking necessary action to ensure work output is met and discipline is maintained on the shop floor. 1. 100% availability of optimum workforce in the floor.

Mechanical/ Industrial Management - Diploma 15 years * Knowledge of Machines like Lathes, Grinders, Mixing Mills, Calendars etc.
