Plant Manager / Assistant Plant Manager

A Cold Heading Plant Manager directs all manufacturing, quality, and operational activities for a facility that forms metal wire and bar stock into precision fasteners and parts using mechanical cold-forming machinery.

Role Overview - The Plant Manager balances safety, production output, and tooling efficiency. They lead teams of cold header operators, tool makers, quality inspectors, and maintenance personnel to ensure high-speed, high-volume production meets strict customer specifications. Key Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Direct daily production schedules across single or multi-die progressive cold headers, thread rollers, and secondary machinery to hit delivery targets.
• Quality & Process Control: Ensure compliance with automotive, aerospace, or industrial quality standards (such as IATF 16949 or ISO 9001), managing scrap rates, dimensional accuracy, and tooling wear.
• Maintenance & Tooling: Oversee preventative maintenance programs for heavy machinery, wire drawers, coil handlers, and die-repair tooling departments to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and anything over requires help and/or handling equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for periods of time, walk and reach with hands and arms.
• Skilled in measurement techniques using precision measuring instruments for quality inspection and measurement (including shop math)
• Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols at all times
• Ability to perform machine setup, tooling adjustments, and basic troubleshooting efficiently
• Train and mentor lower level less experienced operators.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control in machining and metal fabrication processes
