Plant Manager

Overview

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall safety, quality, production, maintenance, staffing, and continuous improvement of the plant's operation.

This is not a desk-only management position. The Plant Manager will be highly visible on the shop floor and directly involved in solving production, equipment, quality, and people-related issues.

Duties

• Lead, coach, and develop a small manufacturing team
• Establish clear expectations for safety, attendance, quality, productivity and housekeeping
• Monitor production performance and quickly address bottlenecks, downtime, labor issues, and material challenges
• Ensure accurate production reporting and inventory transactions
• Ensure the maintenance of practical operating procedures and production standards
• Maintain and encourage a strong safety culture
• Manage quality including scrap and defect investigation, corrective actions, documenting critical process parameters and quality requirements, etc.
• Ensure proper PM schedules are maintained
• Coordinate with outside contractors and equipment suppliers as necessary
• Drive and facilitate continuous improvement efforts

Requirements

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience
• Past plant leadership experience
• Strong mechanical and process aptitude - able to troubleshoot and optimize
• Ability to effectively lead a team of hourly employees
• Experience managing production schedules, quality issues, and equipment downtime
• Comfortable using production data and KPIs to manage performance
• Able to document processes and establish operating standards
• Preferred experience with forging, stamping, foundry, or relevant heavy industrial industry

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
