The Company:

Its Beverage Can business manufactures more than 2.5 billion cans each year across a network of five high-speed facilities, supplying many of the region’s leading beverage brands.

The Wiri, Auckland operation is a key part of Visy’s Beverage Can network and plays a key role in serving the New Zealand market. Operating within a sophisticated, high-volume manufacturing environment, the site combines advanced production technology, engineering capability and a strong focus on safety, quality, service, and continuous improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Wiri operation at a pivotal point in its development. As Plant Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for site performance, leading a multi-disciplinary team and driving operational excellence across safety, people, production, quality, cost and customer service. You will be instrumental in building capability, improving performance and creating a high-performing culture that supports Visy’s continued growth in beverage cans.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a senior leadership role with full accountability for site performance across safety, people, production, quality, cost and service. You will lead the site leadership team, set operational direction, and drive a high-performance culture aligned to Visy’s values and business objectives. You will play a critical role in delivering strong commercial outcomes while ensuring operational excellence, customer focus, and continuous improvement across a complex manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a high-performing site leadership and operations team
• Drive a strong safety-first culture and ensure full HSE compliance
• Deliver production, quality and service outcomes aligned to customer demand
• Own site financial performance including cost, productivity and margin delivery
• Optimise plant efficiency, reliability and asset utilisation
• Lead continuous improvement and Lean initiatives across the operation
• Partner with Sales and Supply Chain to deliver strong customer outcomes
• Provide clear reporting, forecasting and performance insights to stakeholders
• Build capability, engagement and accountability across the workforce
• Play a key role in customer engagement and be actively involved in the commercials

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience as a Plant Manager or senior manufacturing operations leader
• Strong background in high-volume manufacturing environments
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong commercial acumen with ownership of cost and performance outcomes
• Strong safety leadership and compliance mindset
• Proven track record in continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
