Vylor is seeking a Plant Operations Coordinator to join our Seed Operations Development Program (SODP) in Hedrick, Iowa.

This early-career opportunity is designed for someone interested in building experience across plant operations, seed production, supply chain, leadership, and continuous improvement.

As a Plant Operations Coordinator, you will work alongside plant teams to support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of a seed production facility while gaining hands-on experience with the people, processes, equipment, and systems that support our business.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will have opportunities to:

  • Support day-to-day plant operations and production activities
  • Help coordinate production priorities, schedules, people, and resources
  • Gain exposure to seed processing, conditioning, packaging, warehousing, and distribution
  • Partner with teams across production, quality, maintenance, safety, and supply chain
  • Help identify and solve operational challenges
  • Use data and information to support decisions and plant performance
  • Participate in continuous improvement and other plant-based projects
  • Build leadership experience through meaningful responsibilities and team interaction

Seed operations are seasonal, so your responsibilities and experiences will change throughout the year. You will gain exposure to both fast-paced operational periods and opportunities focused on planning, improvement, and development.

The Seed Operations Development Program (SODP) is Vylor’s early-career development program designed to build the experience, skills, and relationships needed for continued growth within Seed Operations.

In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will participate in structured development opportunities that may include:

  • A dedicated mentor
  • Regular development conversations with your manager and Talent Pipeline Coordinator
  • Exposure to leaders and teams across Seed Operations
  • Development sessions with other SODP employees
  • Project-based and cross-functional learning experiences
  • Development in areas such as leadership, communication, problem solving, project management, collaboration, and adaptability

The program is designed to help you build a strong understanding of the business while developing the skills and experiences needed for future opportunities.

Why Plant Operations?

Plant Operations provides broad exposure to how seed production facilities operate and how different functions work together to deliver results.

You will gain experience working across people, processes, equipment, technology, quality, safety, and supply chain while developing your ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and lead through day-to-day operations.

The experience gained in this role can provide a strong foundation for future opportunities across areas such as:

Operations Leadership • Supply Chain • Continuous Improvement • Quality • Production • Planning • Project Management

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Curious and eager to learn
  • Comfortable working with different people and teams

  • Willing to take initiative and ask questions
  • Adaptable as priorities and business needs change
  • Interested in solving problems and improving processes
  • Motivated to build their skills and grow within the organization

Previous seed production experience is not required. We are looking for someone with the willingness to learn, contribute, and take on increasing responsibility over time.
