Job purpose

Operate and support crushing plant operations to ensure safe, efficient production of high-quality materials. This role is responsible for monitoring plant performance, completing inspections, and supporting overall plant operations in a team environment.

Duties and responsibilities

• Operate crushing plant equipment to support safe and efficient production.
• Assist with operation of primary and secondary crushing systems as needed.
• Perform pre- and post-shift inspections of plant equipment.
• Monitor plant operations to maintain production levels and quality standards.
• Track production data and complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow all safety procedures and comply with applicable regulations, including MSHA requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team members to support plant operations.
• Maintain plant equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Perform general labor tasks as needed to support plant operations.
• Work extended and non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
• Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge of

• Crushing plant operations and equipment.
• MSHA regulations and safe work practices.
• Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Computer systems used for plant operations and production tracking.

Ability to

• Operate plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Monitor and adjust operations to maintain production quality and efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Adapt to changing work conditions and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to work safely in a production environment.

• Ability to follow directions and perform assigned tasks.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of aggregate or related experience preferred.

Physical requirements

• Constant (67–100%) required to climb stairs and ladders.
• Constant (67–100%) required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Frequently (34–66%) required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently (34–66%) required to work in field environments with exposure to dust, noise, and extreme weather conditions.
• Frequently (34–66%) required to shovel and perform manual labor tasks.
• Frequently (34–66%) required to sit for extended periods of time.
