Job Summary

The Plant Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager is responsible for leading and driving safety, occupational health, and environmental management programs within the manufacturing site. The role ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, promotes a strong safety culture, minimizes operational and environmental risks, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world-class SHE performance.

This position partners closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to implement SHE strategies, manage audits and certifications, investigate incidents, develop employee capabilities, and foster a culture of safety and sustainability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

SHE Strategy & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and execute site-level SHE strategies, initiatives, and improvement plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Monitor key SHE performance indicators and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to drive SHE excellence and sustainable operational practices.
• Support the implementation of corporate SHE policies, standards, and programs.

Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, environmental, and occupational regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and recommend actions to maintain compliance.
• Maintain all required SHE permits, licenses, records, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate external inspections and certification activities.

Risk Assessment & Control

• Lead risk assessments across manufacturing operations and ensure effective control measures are implemented.
• Identify hazards and ensure preventive and corrective actions are completed.
• Promote proactive safety initiatives and risk-reduction programs.

Incident Management & Emergency Preparedness

• Lead investigations of safety, health, environmental, and property-related incidents.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents.
• Develop, review, and maintain emergency response and crisis management procedures.
• Coordinate emergency drills and preparedness activities.

SHE Audits & Management Systems

• Plan and conduct SHE audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, including certification audits.
• Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Manage SHE documentation and management systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Environmental Management & Sustainability

• Oversee environmental programs related to waste management, wastewater, emissions, energy, and resource efficiency.
• Support environmental impact reduction initiatives and sustainability projects.
• Monitor environmental performance indicators and drive improvement plans.

Training & Safety Culture

• Develop and deliver SHE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Promote SHE awareness through communication campaigns and engagement activities.
• Drive employee participation in safety initiatives and behavior-based safety programs.
• Build a strong safety culture through continuous coaching and leadership involvement.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and develop the site SHE team to achieve performance objectives.
• Coach and mentor team members to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to improve overall site SHE performance.
• Support talent development and succession planning within the SHE functions.

Project & Change Management

• Participate in capital projects and operational changes to ensure SHE requirements are incorporated.
• Review and validate projects involving safety, occupational health, or environmental impacts.
• Support the safe implementation of new equipment, processes, and technologies.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Safety Officer certification or other relevant SHE certifications is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Safety, Health & Environment within manufacturing, industrial, food, packaging, FMCG, or related industries.
• Experience leading SHE management systems, audits, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Proven experience managing investigations, risk assessments, and emergency response programs.
• Experience leading and developing teams.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of occupational safety, health, and environmental management systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Effective communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to drive change and foster a strong safety culture.

Language

• Good command of English and Thai.

Travel Requirement

• Occasional travel within Samut Sakhon and nearby manufacturing sites, as required.
