Plant Supervisor

About the role

Overall responsibility for the plant operations with priority on leading a safety culture to ensure our people work in a safe environment. Overseeing and leading a small team to achieve targets for yield, efficiency, costs and waste. Overseeing projects to improve performance, reduce environmental impact, energy use and improve processing methods. Ensure compliance with internal and external procedures.

This is a part-time role between 10-15hrs per week, can be worked over three days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the plant in all aspects and represent Meateor Pet Foods in a professional manner to staff, suppliers and service providers
• Lead Plant Health and Safety team meetings, demonstrate H&S leadership with actions
• Ensure weekly production is planned to maximise productivity, maximise yield and lower costs
• Ensure the plant has the resources required, both human and otherwise, to be successful and meet targets
• Overview plant RMP and requirements and work with MPI to ensure plant maintains high audit status
• Work with all service providers representing the company in a professional manner to ensure the plant is successful in meeting targets
• Meet budget targets for performance – costs and throughputs

About you

• Broad knowledge of meat industry and food production
• Ability to provide leadership to plant team
• Ability to solve complex and varied problems using sound judgement and experience
• Ability to analyse data to implement change as required
• Ability to meet budget and performance targets
