Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Plasma Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating plasma cutting equipment to precisely cut and shape sheet metal components for various fabrication projects. Your expertise will ensure high-quality output, adherence to safety standards, and efficient production workflows. Duties

• Set up and calibrate plasma cutting machines according to project specifications and technical drawings
• Operate plasma cutters to accurately cut sheet metal and other materials, ensuring clean edges and precise dimensions
• Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and surface finish, making adjustments as needed
• Maintain and troubleshoot plasma equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance
• Use hand tools, grinding, welding, and mechanical knowledge to assist with assembly, finishing, or repairs of fabricated components
• Follow safety protocols rigorously, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of tools and materials
• Document production activities, machine settings, and quality checks in logs for traceability and process improvement

Experience

• Proven experience operating plasma cutting machinery in a fabrication or manufacturing setting
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes including welding, grinding, and assembly techniques
• Mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal work, tooling, and hand tools usage
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, tolerances, and material estimations
• Familiarity with sheet metal properties and handling procedures is preferred
• Prior experience with fabrication equipment maintenance or troubleshooting is a plus
