Plasterer / Multi Trader – Social Housing Maintenance

Location: Hackney, East London
Salary: £39,000 per annum
Bonus: Up to £500 per month

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Plasterer / Multi Trader to join a property maintenance contractor working across social housing properties in Hackney and the surrounding areas.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with a strong background in plastering and tiling who is looking for a permanent position, a competitive salary and the opportunity to earn additional monthly bonuses.

You will be carrying out day-to-day maintenance and repair works within occupied social housing properties, helping to maintain homes to a high standard and ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out plastering repairs, including patch plastering, skimming, making good and preparing surfaces.
• Complete wall and floor tiling, including replacing damaged tiles, regrouting and carrying out general tiling repairs.
• Undertake wet trade repairs and associated multi-trade maintenance works as required.
• Make good walls and ceilings following plumbing, electrical or other repair works.
• Complete preparation and finishing works to ensure a high-quality result.
• Carry out repairs within occupied social housing properties, working respectfully around residents.
• Diagnose repair requirements and identify the materials needed to complete each job.
• Ensure all work is completed to a good standard and within agreed timescales.
• Maintain accurate job records and update the relevant systems upon completion.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
• Deliver a professional and courteous service to tenants and residents.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a plasterer, tiler or multi-trade operative.
• Strong practical skills in both plastering and tiling.
• Experience carrying out property maintenance and repair works.
• Ideally, previous experience within social housing, local authority or domestic maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, manage a daily workload and complete repairs to a high standard.
• Good communication and customer service skills when working in occupied properties.
• Full UK driving licence.
