Plastic Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Lead plastic component design reviews and DFM activities.
• Develop and optimize injection moulding processes for engineering and high-performance plastics.
• Troubleshoot moulding defects such as flash, sink, warpage, weld lines, streaks, burn marks, and dimensional issues.
• Conduct T0/T1 trials, process validation, FAI, and PPAP activities.
• Support material selection, mould design reviews, and tool modification activities.
• Coordinate with Design, Tooling, Quality, Production, Suppliers, and Customers for successful project execution.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of Engineering Plastics such as PEEK, PPS, PPA, PA, PBT, POM, PC, and PES.
• Experience in Plastic Product Design, DFM, Injection Moulding, and NPD.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX.
• Knowledge of GD&T, DOE, SPC, 5 Why, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Strong problem-solving and process optimization skills.
• Precision engineering plastic components.
• High-performance plastics and customer-facing development projects.
• Successful product validation and production launch activities.
