Plastic Extrusion 1st shift

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Plastic Extrusion Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plastic extrusion lines to produce high-quality plastic products. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Duties

• Operate plastic extrusion lines, ensuring proper setup and continuous monitoring during production runs.
• Set the correct gauge for each order based on specifications.
• Monitor the speed of the extrusion line and the quality of the product as it is produced.
• Adjust slitter knives at the beginning of each run to ensure precise cutting and sizing.
• Keep gauges, temperature controls, and other machinery within specified parameters throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean workspace around the extrusion line to promote safety and efficiency.
• Assist in grinding scrap material off the line to ensure minimal waste and optimal operation.
• Monitor gauges and temperature readings consistently to prevent defects or equipment issues.
• Collaborate with team members such as line mixers and operators to ensure smooth production flow.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with plastics extrusion or related manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to monitor multiple gauges, temperatures, and line speeds simultaneously.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to make adjustments to machinery as needed.
• Good understanding of safety procedures related to manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining quality standards.
• Physical stamina for standing, bending, and handling materials throughout shifts.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment issues that may arise during production.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
