Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Plastic Surgery-Certified Scrub Tech to join our dynamic surgical team. In this vital role, you will provide expert assistance during plastic surgery procedures, ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are prepared and maintained to the highest standards. Your expertise will support surgeons in delivering exceptional patient care, maintaining sterile environments, and optimizing surgical outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative healthcare setting committed to excellence and patient safety. This position could transition into full-time if desired.

Duties

• Prepare operating rooms with sterile surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment specific to plastic surgery procedures
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other necessary materials efficiently during surgeries
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols throughout all procedures
• Ensure proper sterilization and handling of medical equipment and surgical instruments in compliance with hospital standards
• Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses during surgery, providing timely support as needed
• Support data collection related to surgical procedures, patient outcomes, and equipment usage for quality improvement initiatives
• Operate medical equipment safely and effectively, including endoscopy tools and other advanced surgical devices
• Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical records for each patient encounter

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with specialization in plastic surgery preferred
• Proven min 2 years experience as a scrub tech in Plastic Surgery
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to plastic surgery
• Proficiency in handling surgical instruments such as suturing tools
• Familiarity with EMR or similar EHR platforms for accurate record-keeping
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are a plus
• Excellent analysis skills for assessing equipment needs and troubleshooting technical issues during surgeries
• Commitment to infection prevention practices including proper sterilization techniques and aseptic protocols
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detail
• Suturing experience a plus
