Plastics Molding Technician

About the Role

As a Plastics Molding Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining production efficiency by managing complex mold setups and optimizing manufacturing processes. You will utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot equipment and ensure high-quality output in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute independent mold and cell setups for injection and blow molding machinery to meet production schedules.
• Perform proactive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting on molding machines, automation handling systems, and auxiliary equipment like chillers and resin dryers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operators and engineering staff, to resolve processing challenges and minimize downtime.
• Monitor and adjust temperature control units and mold controllers to maintain strict process parameters.
• Utilize precision measurement tools to verify product quality and ensure adherence to manufacturing specifications.
• Document corrective actions and process changes to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Associate degree or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a plastics manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and effective communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience with injection molding and blow molding processes.
• Familiarity with EOAT (End of Arm Tooling) and automated material handling systems.
• Experience using multimeters and tensiometers for equipment diagnostics.
