We are hiring a 2nd shift Plate Maker at our Sturgis, MI location.

Responsibilities

• Review docket information to ensure proper job is plated
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Worksheet and Access to ensure job specifications are entered into the system to meet production requirements
• Communicate with Production Scheduler and Plant Management to meet press room demands and customer timelines
• When outputting plates ensure quality of plate is optimum for pressroom (ie. No scratches, dents, holes in image, hot spots or distortion of image)
• Use tools such as die mylars, docket information, approved press proofs, folding samples and specification sheets to create mock-ups when needed to ensure plates meet customer specifications
• Complete Quality Checklists as required
• Move the plates and mylar to the appropriate press
• Maintain and adhere to safety standards and perform housekeeping duties
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Demonstrate a deliberate focus on Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Satisfaction
• Adhere to all IFS PacSecure policies and procedures, including product safety, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Qualifications/Skills Required

• High school Diploma or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience in plate making required
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Be able to lift objects weighing 30-50 pounds safely and effectively, with the capability to lift more
• Stand for extended periods
• Maintain good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Sustain physical endurance for a fast-paced work environment
• Operate and work near machinery safely
• Ability to effectively organize and delegate tasks to employees
• Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing in fast-paced environments.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction
• Sustain physical endurance in a fast-paced work environment.
