Platform & Innovation Lead

This is a hands-on technical leadership role with two major priorities: improving the platforms and security services used across the business, and turning emerging technology into practical, billable services for clients. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, support the technical team and help bring ideas in AI and automation from early concept through to a service clients can buy.

What you’ll be doing...

• Owning the configuration, consistency and ongoing improvement of the business’s core service platforms
• Developing new client-facing services using AI and automation, from initial idea through to scope, build, pricing and launch
• Leading technical onboarding for new clients and resolving complex onboarding issues
• Setting standards for endpoint, Microsoft 365 and email security, and checking that controls are correctly deployed
• Guiding security alert triage and response, including Essential Eight assessments and remediation plans
• Advising clients on security risks and recommendations in clear, practical language
• Acting as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, major incidents and problem investigations
• Leading high-risk change reviews and providing security input where required
• Managing complex vendor escalations and holding suppliers to agreed technical and security standards
• Mentoring technicians in troubleshooting, documentation and sound security practices
• Contributing technical insight to workload, resourcing and priority discussions

This is a technical leadership position with a hands-on focus. You’ll mentor and guide the team, with occasional team coordination or leadership cover when business needs require it.

What we’re looking for...

• At least 5 years’ experience in IT support, including 2 or more years working at senior or Level 3 escalation level
• Experience in an MSP or similar multi-client technology environment
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, Microsoft 365, networking and security
• Practical understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
• Experience using endpoint security tools and working with security alerts
• Confidence explaining security controls and risks to non-technical clients
• Experience building or improving a client service, product or automation solution, ideally through to commercial launch
• Commercial awareness, including the ability to distinguish billable work and contribute to quoting or pricing
• A consistent approach to change control, ticket notes and technical documentation
• The ability to manage competing priorities and take accountability for technical quality
• A current Microsoft certification, or willingness to gain one within the first 6 months
• A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
• Full working rights in Australia

Experience with PSA, RMM, documentation, endpoint security or quoting platforms will be useful. Scripting or workflow automation experience, security certifications, and familiarity with Essential Eight assessments are also valued.

The role is full-time, office-based in Perth, working 38 hours per week Monday to Friday within standard business hours. Flexibility is required for occasional work outside those hours and participation in an on-call roster.
