Platform & Security Architect

• 6months initial contract role

We are looking for an experienced Platform & Security Solution Architect to join a major cloud and security transformation programme within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on architecture role with a strong focus on AWS migration, cloud platform architecture and cyber security, including an immediate piece of work assessing the future direction for Security Data Lake capabilities.

The Role Working across Platform, Cyber Security, Security Operations and Enterprise Architecture teams, you will help shape target-state architecture and provide practical architectural direction across the programme.

A key initial focus will be leading an options assessment across AWS Security Lake, Microsoft Sentinel, Databricks and alternative security data platforms, considering architecture, security, operational requirements and cost.
You will also support the wider migration of on-premise infrastructure, applications and services into AWS.

What You'll Bring:

• AWS cloud architecture and large-scale on-premise to AWS migrations
• Core AWS infrastructure, networking, identity and security services
• Hybrid connectivity, including AWS Direct Connect and providers such as Megaport
• Zero Trust, zoned security and identity-centric security architectures
• Security monitoring, telemetry, logging and Security Data Lake architectures
• SIEM and SecOps platforms, ideally including AWS Security Lake, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Defender and/or Databricks
• Security data ingestion, retention, classification and integration patterns
• Working across multiple vendors, internal technology teams and senior stakeholders
• Producing HLDs, detailed designs, ADRs, option assessments, roadmaps, business cases and cost models

You'll be comfortable facilitating technical workshops, challenging proposed solutions and translating complex architecture decisions into clear recommendations for both technical and executive audiences.

Highly Desirable would be to have AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP or SABSA.

This would suit a senior Solution Architect who can combine deep AWS platform knowledge with strong cyber security architecture capability and is comfortable moving between strategic architecture and practical delivery.
