Platform and Security Operations Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced technology leader to keep the platforms its health insurance customers rely on secure, stable and reliable. This role brings together cloud and infrastructure operations, day-to-day security operations and the technology our cleint staff use to do their work.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll lead the Platform Operations Lead and Security Operations Lead. You'll guide the teams, help resolve complex incidents and improve how live services are monitored, supported and recovered.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee Azure, hosting, networks, virtual machines, platforms and databases that support live customer services.
• Lead incident response and escalations, bringing technical expertise when it helps the team diagnose issues quickly.
• Manage security monitoring, vulnerability management, patching and operational security controls.
• Own backups, business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
• Improve monitoring and automate routine work to make services more reliable and efficient.
• Oversee internal business applications, staff devices, identity and workplace technology.
• Develop your team's capability and work with delivery teams to ensure new services are ready for ongoing support.

Minimum requirements

• At least seven years' experience in infrastructure, hosting or cloud operations, including three years in a leadership role.
• Experience running hosted or cloud services for external customers.
• Deep technical knowledge of Azure and enterprise networking.
• Experience in security monitoring, vulnerability management and patching.
• Experience with backups, business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
• Experience in capacity management, cloud cost management, and monitoring and observability tools.
• A relevant IT, engineering or related qualification, or equivalent experience supported by professional development.

What you'll bring

You'll have at least seven years' experience in infrastructure, hosting or cloud operations, including three years in a leadership role. You'll have run hosted or cloud services for external customers and bring deep knowledge of Azure and enterprise networking.

You'll also have practical experience across security operations, disaster recovery, monitoring, capacity management and cloud costs. You're calm during incidents, comfortable making decisions and committed to sharing your technical knowledge with your team.

Experience in insurance or private health insurance would be an advantage.
