What they need
For this position we are only looking for candidates located in Greece.
Nairon GmbH is a Swiss startup focused on building practical solutions in web development and artificial intelligence. Our current work includes a large-scale web application and an AI-driven customer support system. We value clear communication, thoughtful engineering, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Join us as we continue to develop tools that make a difference.
This is one of three overlapping engineering postings (telco, platform, fullstack). You may cover more than one area, and we hire the best fit across all postings.
As a Platform Engineer at Nairon GmbH, you will keep our environments and releases reliable, with backend and frontend work where the platform needs it. Your responsibilities will include:
- Running our Kubernetes environments, including staging and production on AWS, and the GitOps setup (Argo CD, Helm) that deploys our services.
- Making releases routine: GitHub Actions pipelines, container builds, promotion between environments and fewer manual steps.
- Setting up monitoring and alerting (we use OpenTelemetry) so we notice problems before customers do.
- Simplifying and documenting our environments, backups and secrets handling.
- Changing our Python (FastAPI) services and Next.js application where infrastructure work needs it (you may also cover fullstack work).
Experience:
A mid-senior to senior engineer who has run Kubernetes in production and can own an environment without close supervision.
Technical Skills:
Required:
- Kubernetes in production (networking, autoscaling, rollouts) and GitOps with Argo CD or Flux and Helm.
- AWS (IAM, VPC, load balancers, container registry) and CI/CD, for example GitHub Actions.
- Monitoring and alerting experience, ideally with OpenTelemetry.
- Comfortable reading and changing Python and TypeScript code.
Nice to have:
- Terraform, secrets management, KEDA, Postgres operations, or LiveKit and WebRTC infrastructure.
Communication:
- English proficiency is essential, both written and spoken, as it is the working language for all positions.
Soft Skills:
Pragmatic: you improve things step by step instead of rewriting them.
Ownership: you document what you build and what you decide.
Flexible Work Setup: Work fully remotely or from a co-working space — whichever suits you best.
Equipment Provided: Company laptop and phone provided for all employees.
Collaborative Environment: Join a small, agile team where your contributions have a direct impact.
Growth Opportunities: Exposure to the whole platform, from infrastructure to backend and frontend code, with the chance to expand into AI-related work over time.
If you enjoy making releases boring and systems dependable, we'd love to hear from you. Please tell us which other areas, such as fullstack work, you could also cover.
Other offers great for you!
