Platform Engineer

We’re hiring a Platform Engineer

to join SendOS. 

This is an Individual Contributor (IC)

role working directly with the Head of Engineering across multiple products, including SendFood, Sendy(AI food ordering Platform), SendOS, and SendOS native Apps

.

Unlike a backend engineer assigned to a single product, this role will focus on cross-product and technically challenging problems that require deeper investigation, system design, and hands-on execution.

What you’ll do:

• Design and build production backend services using C# / .NET
• Design APIs, service boundaries, data models, and asynchronous workflows
• Investigate complex production and distributed-system issues
• Design for concurrency, idempotency, consistency, retries, and failure recovery
• Build and operate event-driven and distributed systems
• Design and implement LLM-powered and agentic workflows
• Work with tool calling, structured outputs, agent orchestration, context management, and external system integrations
• Design safe and reliable execution boundaries between AI agents and business systems
• Build OAuth and third-party SaaS integrations
• Work with AWS-based production environments
• Drive architecture decisions through implementation
• Improve system reliability, observability, performance, and security
• Unblock engineering teams on difficult cross-system problems

What we’re looking for:

• Strong hands-on experience with C# / .NET / ASP.NET Core
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and system design
• Strong SQL, database design, and transaction fundamentals
• Production experience with AWS and containerized workloads
• Strong understanding of asynchronous and event-driven architectures
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization, OAuth, and application security
• Strong production debugging and root-cause analysis skills
• Strong understanding of LLMs and modern AI application architecture
• Practical understanding of agentic systems, tool/function calling, orchestration, context management, structured outputs, and agent execution
• Understanding of LLM reliability challenges, including non-deterministic output, validation, retries, guardrails, and failure handling
• Ability to design AI systems where sensitive or high-impact actions require controlled and auditable execution
• Ability to navigate large and unfamiliar codebases independently
• Ability to make sound technical decisions with incomplete information and clearly explain the trade-offs
• Ability to make sound technical decisions with incomplete information
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly and challenge designs when necessary

This is not a people-management role

. You will work across product teams while existing Tech Leads retain ownership of their respective teams.

We’re looking for someone who can be given a problem, not just a fully defined Jira ticket

— someone who can investigate, recommend an approach, and help drive the solution through to production.
