Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer (DV Cleared) | Contract

£650-£750 per day | Outside IR35 | Corsham | 6-12 Months

Ncounter is recruiting an experienced DV Cleared Platform Engineer to support a major cloud transformation programme within Defence. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of secure, modern cloud infrastructure supporting critical government services.

Working within a highly skilled engineering team, you'll take a hands-on role in building, automating and improving cloud platforms, with a particular focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes .

The programme offers technically challenging work, exposure to modern cloud technologies and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to services operating within a highly secure environment.

The Role:

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using GCP and Kubernetes.
• Develop and improve automation, infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes.
• Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
• Support containerised applications, ensuring platform reliability, availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and contribute to continuous platform improvements.
• Collaborate with architects, developers and security specialists to deliver robust cloud solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance , essential.
• Strong commercial experience with GCP and Kubernetes , including deployment, configuration and operational support.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, configuration management and automation tooling.
• Scripting experience using Python, Bash or similar languages.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, containerisation and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience delivering secure, resilient infrastructure within complex technical environments.
• Previous experience working within Defence, National Security or other highly secure government programmes would be advantageous.
