Platform Engineer - Databricks

We’re partnered with a global organisation investing heavily in its modern data platform and are looking for a Databricks Platform Engineer to help build and scale its Lakehouse environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of Databricks, cloud infrastructure and data engineering.

You’ll be responsible for improving the platform that enables hundreds of engineers, analysts and data scientists to build and deploy data workloads at scale.

This is a 6-month initial contract.

What you'll be doing:

• Design and maintain the Databricks Lakehouse platform
• Build and manage Databricks workspaces and environments
• Develop reusable infrastructure using Terraform
• Manage CI/CD pipelines for Databricks workloads
• Implement platform governance, security and access controls
• Work with Unity Catalog and data governance frameworks
• Improve cluster configuration, reliability and performance
• Establish engineering standards and best practices across Databricks

What we're looking for:

• 6+ years of experience with Databricks
• Experience building or managing Databricks platforms at scale
• Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS or GCP
• Excellent understanding of cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Understanding of Unity Catalog, security and governance
• Strong Python and/or SQL skills
• Experience supporting multiple engineering teams
• Comfortable working as a senior individual contributor
