What they need

Role overview

We are looking for a Platform Engineer with approximately 4–6 years of relevant experience in platform administration, Microsoft 365, or related engineering roles, including practical experience administering Microsoft Power Platform.

You will help manage, govern, and improve Power Platform and SharePoint Online, ensuring reliable day-to-day services and supporting secure, consistent platform usage.

Working with developers, business users, and service stakeholders, you will also contribute to the platform operating model by helping establish practical processes, clear responsibilities, and effective support arrangements.

This role suits someone with a strong administration background who is ready to take greater responsibility for governance and service improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft Power Platform, including environment configuration, access management, monitoring, incident resolution, and service requests.
  • Maintain Power Platform governance, including environment management, data loss prevention policies, and visibility of apps, flows, and platform usage.
  • Help maintain and use the Power Platform Centre of Excellence toolkit to support monitoring, governance, and adoption.
  • Contribute to the platform operating model, helping define ownership, support responsibilities, request processes, escalation routes, and operational procedures.
  • Administer SharePoint Online, including sites, permissions, access, and information organisation.
  • Support SharePoint migrations and the transition of legacy workflows to Power Automate.
  • Work with security and compliance colleagues to apply appropriate access controls and data protection measures in line with BIS standards.
  • Collaborate with developers and business users on practical standards for solution development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Support related Microsoft 365 services, such as OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Exchange Online, alongside the wider support team.
  • Maintain clear documentation and identify opportunities to improve services and automate routine tasks.

Requirements

Required skills and experience

  • Approximately 4–6 years of relevant professional experience, with demonstrable hands-on experience in Power Platform administration and operations.
  • Practical experience with the Power Platform admin centre, including managing environments, permissions, data policies, and operational issues.
  • A working understanding of Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, including how solutions are managed and supported.
  • Experience administering SharePoint Online, particularly sites, permissions, and access management.
  • An understanding of platform governance and the ability to translate requirements into workable procedures and controls.
  • Experience contributing to service processes or support arrangements, such as defining ownership, handling requests, documenting procedures, or improving escalation processes.
  • A working understanding of Microsoft 365 identity, access management, and data protection.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical colleagues and business users.
  • An organised, collaborative approach, with the ability to manage routine work independently and escalate issues appropriately.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate practical platform administration experience alongside any app or workflow development experience.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Familiarity with the Power Platform Centre of Excellence toolkit.
  • Exposure to shaping or improving a platform operating model.
  • Experience with SharePoint migrations or moving legacy workflows to Power Automate.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, retention, or compliance capabilities.
  • Experience supporting other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or other tools for administrative automation.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications or equivalent practical experience.
