Job Title: Platform Engineering Senior Engineer

Location: Chennai

Work Type: Hybrid (4 Days work From Office)

Position Description:

• The Platform Engineer will help build and operate platform capabilities that make service deployment easier, safer, and more consistent for engineering teams.
• The role will develop CI/CD automation and self-service workflows for deploying approved containerized services to OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
• It will work with application teams, platform operations, and security stakeholders to improve delivery workflows and support the service lifecycle.

Skills Preferred:

• GitHub, Python, TERRAFORM

Experience Required:

• Senior Engineer Exp: Proficient In 2 coding lang. or adv. Prac. in 1 lang.; guides.
• 10+ years in IT;
• 8+ years in development Practical experience deploying and supporting containerized workloads on OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Experience developing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Tekton or a comparable tool.
• Working knowledge of container images, registries, version control, and deployment configuration.
• Experience automating repeatable deployment or operational tasks through scripting or workflow tools.
• Understanding of secure delivery practices, including access controls, validation, secrets handling, approvals, and auditable changes. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Experience Preferred:

• Experience with internal developer portals, service catalogs, or self-service provisioning.
• Experience creating reusable deployment templates, workflows, or golden paths.
• Familiarity with GitOps and declarative deployment practices.
• Experience integrating software composition, security, or license scanning into CI/CD.
• Experience supporting stateful services and planning upgrades, recovery, and rollback.
• Apache NiFi experience is beneficial but not required unless the role specifically owns NiFi.

Additional Information :

• Build and maintain self-service workflows for provisioning and deploying approved services.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines for building, validating, packaging, releasing, and deploying containerized services.
• Create reusable templates and documented deployment paths to reduce manual coordination for routine deployments.
• Integrate workflows with source control, container registries, scanning tools, and deployment configuration repositories.
• Apply appropriate validation, approval, access-control, and audit requirements.
• Support service configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, rollback planning, and decommissioning.
• Document platform workflows, usage guidance, and operational procedures.
• Gather user feedback and use available measures-such as provisioning time and workflow success-to improve the platform.
• Collaborate with application owners, platform teams, security, and operations.
