Platform Lead Engineer

We are seeking a Platform Infrastructure Lead to lead the operations of enterprise container platforms and shared infrastructure services. You will manage a team responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of Kubernetes platforms, middleware, and enterprise COTS applications supporting mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4–6 infrastructure engineers supporting container platforms and platform services.
• Manage platform operations, incident response, problem management, change implementation, and lifecycle activities.
• Deploy, configure, and support Kubernetes, Docker/Podman , and enterprise COTS products including MongoDB, MSSQL, NGINX, Apache, IBM MQ, MQTT, Kafka, and ArcGIS .
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and integration teams to resolve platform issues and support new services.
• Ensure platform monitoring, logging, documentation, and operational runbooks are maintained.
• Drive platform upgrades, patching, OS hardening, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Lead Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity (BCP), and operational readiness activities.
• Promote automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the platform environment.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or middleware operations, including team leadership.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Kubernetes , Docker/Podman , Linux administration, and OS hardening.
• Experience managing enterprise COTS platforms including MongoDB, MSSQL, NGINX, Apache, IBM MQ , and messaging technologies.
• Good understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancers, monitoring, and observability tools ( Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, eG Enterprise ).
• Experience with CI/CD , automation (Ansible, scripting), and modern platform operations.
• Strong leadership, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Experience working in government or other highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
