Platform Lead - Purchase /Costing

Role & responsibilities

1. Platform Purchase Lead

• Platform Purchase Lead manages purchasing for new automotive vehicle/platform development.
• Handles SoR and drawing finalization with Engineering and suppliers.
• Evaluates supplier technical capability and cost feasibility.
• Manages SBC (Should-Be Cost) and supplier quotation analysis.
• Ensures parts meet TCP/target cost and project timelines.
• Evaluates supplier capacity, investment, tooling and Capex requirements.
• Manages BOP (Bought-Out Parts) sourcing and supplier selection.
• Maintains part-wise BOM and ensures quality and cost targets.
• Drives APQP/PPAP and successful part development with suppliers.

2. Platform Costing Lead

• Platform Costing Lead (PCL) manages costing for new automotive vehicle/platform projects.
• Supports Product Planning with cost benchmarks for business-case preparation.
• Defines part/system-wise material cost targets for the platform team.
• Provides cost feasibility inputs on SOR and drawings.
• Prepares SBC (Should-Be Costing) for parts and systems.
• Communicates SBC/ROCM costing to the sourcing/SSU team.
• Monitors and controls the overall platform material cost.
• Evaluates material cost impact of engineering changes.
• Tracks business-case material cost targets, risks and mitigation actions.
