About Castaway Play

Castaway Play is a popular family adventure play centre in Congleton, offering exciting indoor and outdoor play experiences for children and families.

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking Play Assistant & Cleaner to join our team.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining cleaning responsibilities, customer service and supporting the day-to-day operation of our play centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the centre.
• Clean and maintain play equipment, seating areas, floors, toilets and communal facilities.
• Carry out regular cleaning checks throughout shifts.
• Support the supervision of play areas and help ensure visitors follow safety rules.
• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist with the smooth running of daily operations.
• Report maintenance, cleanliness or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH requirements.
• Assist with seasonal events, including Halloween, Christmas and school holidays.
• Work collaboratively with Team Leaders and other staff.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Be reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Have excellent attention to detail and high cleaning standards.
• Be comfortable working in a busy, family-friendly environment.
• Have a friendly and approachable manner.
• Be able to work independently and use initiative.
• Be physically capable of carrying out routine cleaning and active duties, with reasonable adjustments where required.
• Be willing to undertake relevant training.
• Be available to work one weekend day each week.

Previous experience in commercial cleaning, hospitality, leisure or customer service would be beneficial but is not essential.

Full training will be provided.

Working Hours

This is a part-time position offering 16 hours per week, including one weekend day.

Some flexibility may be required during school holidays and our busy seasonal events.

Salary

£13.50 per hour

• Approximately £216 per week before deductions.
• Approximately £11,232 annually before deductions, based on 52 paid weeks.
