What they need
Do you enjoy making families feel welcome, bringing energy to children’s parties and being part of a busy team?
Wild Adventure is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Play Assistant & Party Host to help deliver a great experience for children aged 0–11 and their families.
This is an active, varied role combining customer service, party hosting, monitoring the play areas and keeping the centre clean and organised.
Your main responsibilities
Welcome and look after our customers
Greet families warmly and help them feel welcome from arrival to departure.
Explain our facilities, play rules and party arrangements clearly and politely.
Listen to customer questions and concerns, help within your training and involve the duty manager when needed.
Support reception, admissions, party enquiries and café service when required and once trained.
Help deliver brilliant birthday parties
Prepare party areas, check booking details and have everything ready before guests arrive.
Welcome the birthday child and their family, explain how the party will run and help everyone feel included.
Bring enthusiasm, communicate confidently with children and adults, and keep the party running to time.
Coordinate with the kitchen and follow our food and allergy procedures carefully.
Check that families are happy throughout their visit, then clean, reset and restock the party area.
Keep the play environment safe
Stay alert, actively monitor the play areas and respond promptly to unsafe behaviour.
Explain and reinforce play rules in a calm, friendly and consistent way.
Follow equipment-checking, accident and emergency procedures, reporting hazards or concerns immediately.
Ask for guidance whenever you are unsure.
Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their children. Our team actively monitors the environment and promotes safe play.
What we expect from you
Reliability: arrive on time, ready for your shift, keep your availability accurate and communicate attendance issues promptly.
A welcoming attitude: be approachable, polite and enthusiastic with children, parents and colleagues.
Initiative: notice what needs doing and take appropriate action within your training.
Teamwork: communicate clearly, share the workload and support colleagues during busy periods.
Good presentation: wear a clean uniform and follow our hygiene and appearance standards.
Professional behaviour: stay focused on customers and your duties, keeping personal phones away while working.
Willingness to learn: listen to feedback, practise new skills and follow procedures consistently.
Honesty and good judgement: report mistakes promptly and ask for help early.
The work involves moving around the centre, accessing play areas, setting up parties and cleaning. We welcome discussion about any reasonable adjustments needed to carry out the role.
